40k skirmish game with elements of Necromunda including vertical terrain- all plastic. Rules out of the box for 16 armies/factions. Orks/SMS in the "huge" box. Thinking $150 retail.

Farewell, monies!

I am totally excited for this. As stated elsewhere, I am just not that big of a fan of 40K's base rules and would prefer to play skirmish scale. This looks like exactly what I am looking for.

More details/clarifications-

- It IS Necromunda- rules described as "nearly identical"

- 12 factions, not 17- Probably Orks, Blood Angels (in the box but may be genetic SM rules), CSMs, Eldar, Deathwatch, Harlequins, Tau, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Genestealer Cults (yay), Skiitari, AM???

- Points/dataslates like AoS- online and free

- Support for organized play in the box

I might be more excited about this than 8th edition.

I bet they go with Scions over full AM: a lot of customization and a newer kit.

Skirmish 40k. Sweet. Old necromunda, or new necro based on current rules?

Old necro was loosely based on 2nd ed 40k rules, so am curious if they are updating it to be contemporary at all.

The terrain is kinda stupid... sure it's sweet it's plastic, but that's hardly a hive world. Deadzone-style terrain in cardboard/plastic combination a la necromunda would have been sweet...

Content seems like 1 box of boyz and 2 boxes of scouts (not sure if there's any snipers). $29 + $50. Note that both boxes aren't really hot right now.

I'm hearing that it is close enough that you can still play with the old gangs, so that's pretty neat.

Interesting to see what the cost is on this...I was thinking $150 from the hip, but I can see this being half that given the cheapness of the Boyz and Scouts (both of which I already have anyway). I'm thinking two or more sets will be able to link those buildings up.

I'm definitely doing a Genestealer Cult gang if they are in...I may already have plenty in Overkill.

I agree about the terrain. It is many steps back from the cities of death ruins judging by that admittedly blurry pic.

Might just by the rule book, if the price of the game is high.

Here's a better picture:

(which of course, the REAL game would play NOTHING like that...)

Still not impressed.
