Reads just like Arseface's dialogue in Preacher.

I just can't finish writing that mentat litany as Marlee.
But Barney is right, it is fucking hilarious to think about her doing it.

I never fully appreciated Science Fiction until I read Dune. Brilliance. I need to read it again soon.
My 14 year old keeps declining the read but i cannot wait till he caves. At this point my AH copy will be ready. It has been much too long since it graced my table.

That article ... I had no idea Dune had become worth so much. I bought my copy for £30 on Ebay maybe 10 years ago, and I sold it to a friend for the same amount a few years later.
Aside from the monetary loss, I don't care. It's so fantastically rare that I get a six-player group together that it's not worth trying to get everyone to grips with the slippery rules. The way it can punish minor mistakes - ones that you can't even see coming - is infuriating. And, if I'm honest, I find the combat system too stressful to be fun.
It's a good game for me, rather than a great one. I flogged off my copy of Rex as well, for much the same reasons. It is, however, one of the greatest examples of theming in a game ever, and I salute it for that.

I've been busy with other things lately, but am continuing my re-read of Dune at a leisurely pace. I'm about 2/3 of the way in, and Paul and Jessica are starting to get on my nerves with their Mary Sue tendencies. Even when abruptly forced to live on the run in a foreign culture, they always seem to say and do just the right things. Yeah yeah, Ben Gesserit training and all that, but I find it a bit lazy. Paul at least can be explained away due to his prescience, but Jessica... smh. Still, the setting is rich with ideas and the story is moving along at a better pace than I remembered.
