Prince of the City

More than 20 years ago, White Wolf Publishing announced that they were going to do a boardgame based on their Vampire: the Masquerade rpg. After pushing back the publication date repeatedly in their quarterly catalog, they finally dropped it. And I decided that I probably knew more about boardgames than they did, and started brainstorming how I would make the game. By 2003, White Wolf had two competing designs in development, one of which was mine. Both games got published, and now the original creator of Vampire: the Masquerade is taking a shot at the exact same subject matter.

Barnes and I were talking about doing an interview for F:AT several years ago, but never got around to it. Now I'm thinking about doing a series of articles or forum posts about my experience. I kept extensive notes during the process, regarding design, prototyping, playtesting, and working with White Wolf Games on a contractual basis. What would you folks prefer? That I continue posting in this thread, or do articles for the front page?

I had no idea you were involved in that game.
There is a small group here that loves the game, but we don't play often enough to make relearning the game each time we play easy.

I'll have to text you next time we do and see if we can coordinate something.

Also, articles are a good idea for this. I like the game and would like to know more.

Dunno if articles are up right now. I submitted something a week or two ago but I don't think it got seen?
