I played it three years ago at a convention and agree, Fireball Island is not a good game. It's basically Candyland with a huge awesome mountain rolling marbles.

I figured the comment was made to sell it to the BGG crowd who loathe roll and move.

Your puny mortal words anger the mighty Vul'Kar!

The opposite of play, is depression.

I don't care if the game is a big toy used as an excuse to game. The better games do this anyways.

It's odd and actually a bit deflating to see such comments about a game like Fireball Island on a website called For tress Ameritrash.

I hear there is another site that has a lot of depressing, sad brown games that are 'fun'.

That still sounds like a better game than Los Mampfos.

Details on the pirate ship and the other expansions. All-in price is $130, discounted from retail.

So Kickstarter price for everything will be $130, and probably doesn't include shipping? Retail price will be $150, and I'd be willing to bet online stores sell it at a discount, and it'll qualify for free shipping. Plus, you can wait and see if it's actually worth the money.

Survey says: let the "I'll back anything" Kickstarter crowd fund this thing, and wait for the retail release.

I'm going to pass on this Kicksucker. I bet people will be selling it in a few years for $80 plus shipping, because it will be a large shelf toad as soon as the novelty wears off. And in our current gaming environment, the novelty wears off many games in about two to three months.

Yeah, I mean, are folks really going to be tabling this game regularly beyond a month after it comes out?

Saving $20...ha ha, back it sucker!

I can imagine playing it frequently with kids. But, I have the original, so I don't know if this is necessary for that purpose.

So, this is a different company from the failed Yeti Mountain Kickstarter effort, right?

It's heartbreaking to see so many dreams left unfulfilled.

This is precisely my thought as well. The only incentive at this point are the stretch goals.

It's very difficult to imagine the stretch goals to be impressive enough to warrant backing this project. Mostly because shipping is utterly outrageous now. I would likely be paying so much more after shipping than I would at retail.

Shame. This is one KS I could have been convinced to back.

The expansion ideas sound awful. And $130 is laughable. Let the Cult of the New FOMO crowd back it.

It does seem like a fun toy but, yeah... I've got a PS4 to get on the budget, so this one's out of the picture. And judging from what happened when I looked away from something like Catacombs for too long, I'm guessing I probably won't come around to picking it up because there will always seem to be something more enticing to spend $130 on than this.

I keep thinking my kids would probably love this but then I think I bought 6 Tales & Games titles for $50, Kingdomino and Queendomino for about $40, Santorini for $30, and I’ll be picking up anothe T&G (Aladdin) for $12. So ten games I know they love and want to play...or $130 for a marble-rolling game with a plastic mountain.

Next up- a $200 reprint of The Omega Virus.

So I've been following the designer blog finally.

I gotta say, I do think they are handling the KS exclusive garbage the right way, by not planning to offer them at all.

But the planned stretch goals are tosh.

I may sound.like a grumpy old man, but Everytime I see stretch goals that are fun only for the creators, I feel like I'm listening to Donald Trump mansplain how what he wants is for everyone's benefit.

Like, this guy gets a car if we reach 5 mil in cash, or in the case of tiny epic whatever, designer gets a night out with his wife. All noble things, but why do I really care? Just give the guy a car after the campaign if you reach that goal instead of putting 'fun' pressure on the backers to make that happen?

I know. I'm a cynical twat I guess. I just don't get it and them calling it 'fun' makes me feel guilty that I don't understand when I know I'm getting smoke blown up my ass.

But if KS is really not a preoder site (ha) then why are you peddling this crap to investors for retail price (shipping is being charged, but apparently subsidized so that you aren't charged more than it would cost at retail) and then pour all these 'fun' stretch goals all over it?
