While I understand that books hold appeal to many (including me) I'm surprised that this isn't electronic after the success of their Descent 2E: Road to Legend app, not only will an app need massively less physical resources they could regularly offer expansions (patches, upgrades) to 'freshen up the choices.
I'm assuming they have done their marketing though so will be interested to see how this goes.

I think it makes sense given the direction a certain type of game is going. It's a good risk from FFG but everything depends on the quality of the writing and twists...

I'm definitely interested. I really like the concept.

I assume we will see this system used with other original IPs (Android), and perhaps licenses (A Game of Thrones) in the future?

For me this depends on how FFG wraps it. If it's all writing, it's a bit boring. If there's good amount of map, monster pics, scenery... I'm in!

"Exciting adventures in the land of Terrinoth" just doesn't sound right.

It is admirable how FFG clings to that setting, you gotta give them points for perseverance. But only for that.

So, are they calling it "Legacy..." in the hopes that it sponges up some of the Pandemic and Risk Legacy vibes?

This is easily my most anticipated game from FFG. I will always have an interest in any adventure game and this one seems particularly different and ambitious (coming from FFG). I think they've made some really smartly designed stuff in the past couple of years (I adore Runebound Third Edition) and I've got high hopes for this. Honestly, what I'm seeing so much from this game that I'll probably just pre-order or blind buy it. And I NEVER do that.

I'm a fan of Terrinoth/Runebound stuff, too ( :P, Vlad) but the art design on that box is seriously 80s-just-fantasy-enough-to-not-make-you-think-of-dragons-and-thus-TSR. I feel like I just looked at an ad page in Dragon or White Dwarf, circa 1984.

+1 in my book. Maybe it's nostalgia goggles, but there isn't much fantasy of that flavor on the shelf these days. There mostly seems to be a few grim settings, but the lion's share are all fairly cartoony, to include the other Terrinoth titles to this point.

I am amazed they're charging $60 for a set of choose your own adventure books that a group of people take turns deciding which path to take.

There used to be a pretty great iOS version of Barbarian Prince, "Road of Kings." Unfortunately it was 86ed from the app store for some reason about a year ago. :(

Edit: Apparently it was pulled for financial reasons; not making enough money to justify keeping it active in the store. The developer put up the Android version for free download though:

Box size determines the price, not the content.
