This certainly sounds like a unique Trek game. Everyone is a Ferengi trying to make the most profit. Christophe Boelinger as designer.

Boelinger plus Trek plus Quark plus not a fucking Kickstarter equals MUST TRY!

It has to be some kind of deal-making game...maybe an I’m the Boss sort of thing?

Well, if I’d have read the link...looks like this is exactly what it should be.

Anyone played this yet? It comes with Cardboard-pressed Latinum.

Says it's a reskin of Fantasy Business, a game Barnes has opined on in the past.

Yeah, there's a thread on the page at BGG where Zev even says it's a reskin. They tweaked the rules, but also included a copy of the old rules for people that wanted to play the original way.

Played it yesterday with the full 8 people (which, yes, you want). It’s chaos. So much negotiating and backstabbing. I never played Fantasy Business, so I cant comment on the changes, but it’s a really solid game for people who like this sort of thing and that Ferengi themeing is so spot on. Everyone enjoyed it. I can’t imagine I’ll be going to a con without it.

This is the dumbest thing ever, but the fact that the cards use an LCARS graphical design when the game is about DS9 and Ferengi bothers me. Maybe it's because I think this particular LCARS implementation looks like cheap trash.

How does this compare to Intrigue?

I actually really like the overall look of the game.

It feels like a different experience from Intrigue, can’t say it’s fair to compare the two so I won’t. It’s by far more about economics and feels more open, that’s about all I can say.

It just struck me that it’s a game with no turns, everyone is pretty much always participating, especially once you get a few rounds in. That’s always going to impress me when you can do that.

It very well might not be a fair comparison, which is fine. I actually don't know much about Intrigue except the one time I played it, it flopped hard with my group. They have negotiation in common and I was just curious.

You’re not wrong and I realize that, I didn’t mean to come of so brash. I was on a short break at work and kept my response brief.

The play feels very different though. This feels more loose, believe it or not, but more together at the same time because you’re essentially spending the whole game setting prices and second guessing if someone is going to do something other than what they agreed to.

If Intrigue is a negotiation game with an economic angle, this is the inverse.
