Would you shell out the cash top buy Dune now or wait for the FFG reprint?

Maybe I will buy the FFG edition when it comes out, and then re-theme the components with label paper copies of the original. That way, I have a clear conscience about paying for the game, but I pay a reasonable price and also get the theme I want.

I think you've nailed it here. There's no goddamned way I'm going to cut up some cardboard and make tokens or whatever the hell. But I have no qualms about printing some stickers to slap on the pieces that come in the "Dune" game FFG puts out.

I'm just going to wait for the FFG remake. My only exposure to the Dune universe is through the Lynch movie about 10 years back, so the game's thematic relevance will largely be lost on me. Besides, the TI universe is robust enough that I'm sure they'll be able to successfully shoehorn it in.

I would pick up a 2nd copy of the french edition. It is of better quality than the AH one and since FFG is re-theming the game i think that the risk is low that you will waste money.

I will probably buy the new on too but i expect they will feel very different, even with the same mechanics.

I've had the fortune to never play the game with less than six, believe it or not...but Robert says it's fine with five, and I think it would be- leave out the Bene Gesserit.

Dune plays fine with five ... and, as suggested, the easiest faction to leave on the sidelines is the BG.

I'm not sure how a four-player game would play. I suspect it would still be fun, but I'm just not convinced. My advice would be: "kidnap a fifth player."
