Second half of 2016 - What are you looking forward to?

We're cruising along well into 2016 and so far it's been a pretty jammed packed year....lots of great stuff already available. Gen Con is right around the corner and tons of interesting stuff should get announced and released shortly afterwards. Same with Essen in the Fall. What are the games are you anxiously waiting to try out in 2016?

My shortlist looks something like this:

Betrayal at House on the Hill: Widow's Walk Expansion - I still can't believe this is real and coming out. It will be a day one purchase and I hope to get it in time for a Halloween horror game session. Release window might be tight for that though.

Cry Havoc - Looks very interesting. I like the designers and the company.

Sword and Sorcery - Generic name aside I'm very excited to try out this co-op dungeon crawler. Sounds like it takes the best stuff from Galaxy Defenders and tightens it up.

TNMT - I kickstarted this ninja turtles game and I REALLY want it to be good. Fingers crossed.

First Martians: Adventures on a Red Planet - The Sci-Fi reboot of Robinson Crusoe that uses an app looks VERY promising.

Star Trek Ascendancy - Big ass 4x style game from Gale Force 9 that uses Star Trek? Sign me up.

Islebound - Pirate-y game from Red Raven Games. Looks like fun.

Last Friday - Hidden movment game from Ares that looks like it turns Letters from Whitechapel on it's head. It's essentially Friday the 13th the Boardgame without the license. Very excited for this.

Legendary: Big Trouble in Little China - Duh!

Hit Z Road - Zombie game from Martin Wallace and Space Cowboys. Looks interesting.

I know there are a few more, but that's all I got off the top of my head. What are you guys looking forward to?

Star Trek Ascendancy - Gale Force Nine rarely disappoints

My local opponent collects all the Legendary stuff, so I'll check out BTiLC.

Time of Crisis - a war/euro from GMT by the designer that did SWORD OF ROME.

Pax Rennaissance from Sierra Madre. 'Nuff said .

Pax Renaissance, Bios: Genesis, and SeaFall. Everything else is kind of background noise for me as it's summertime, and it's nice out.

  • SEAFALL--I know this unreleased game is old hat to you goddamned insider shitheads and all, but I would also like to play it.
  • STAR TREK: CHVATIL--I forget what it is exactly, but I loves me some Chvatil.
  • Whatever Blizzard cooks up for OVERWATCH and HEARTHSTONE. Seriously, they are at the top of their... game. Hah! A joke. So funny.
  • I figure the Coen Bros are working on something.
  • My son is getting a COZMO in October (his reading prize this year). That should be cool.

ps. if you want to play HEARTHSTONE, fire it up with this link and I get a Murloc: us.battle.net/account/en/creation/recruit.html?rid=HBB7NQDPDC

Seafall, if reviews are quite good I'll buy it. I'm undecided after reading the rules.

FAB: Golan is coming out and I'm very excited. I broke out FAB: Sicily earlier this year on a lark and still absolutely adore it.

Fields of Fire 2 is coming out, Marines. Might take the opportunity to play that---has an Iraq war module and a has a Japanese island invasion in it which should be very interesting. Hopefully the rules are tightened? I had some trouble with the original but still played the heck out of it.

Stellaris expansions. I love Stellaris and I think it has a lot of room for new expansions and types of civilizations.

I can't think of anything else but maybe something.

Another one - WARCULTS.

As far as video games go...I'm pretty much disinterested in anything that isn't Overwatch, From Software, Nintendo or Kojima at this point. Maybe No Man's Sky.

I forgot about WARCULTS! That one too. I really need me some more Cave Evil for that matter.

I've got Seafall and the Betrayal expansion both on pre-order.

Cry Havoc interests me but my group already has a slew of this type of game. Still...

Presumably in a few months I'll have my Conan kickstarter. It seems like it will be a good game.

Aethersteel, if it comes out.

Zombicide Black Plague looks SICK

SIEGE OF THE MUVUGGIN CITADEYEL REPRINT

The Armored Core RTS board game looks really cool from what I've seen. I told them to contact Shellie for advertising

Heroes of Land Sea And Air

Team Yankee

Tiny Epic Galaxies expansion

And a shitload of other games I can't afford.

I haven't been paying too much attention to the up and coming stuff, so I don't even know what's on the horizon. I have SeaFall pre-ordered, so that's going to be happening. And a friend tipped me off to Colony which looks kind of neat. Cry Havoc looks like a game that will want to compete with Nexus Ops and will fail. I don't know of anything else I'm looking at.

I'm not sure I've played even more than a couple games since Geekway owing to lack of time and availability. As if I needed more stuff, I'd probably say

Star Trek Ascendancy
Star Wars Armada waves 3/4 (though I don't even own all of wave 2)
Grand Prix (Thunder Alley meets Formula 1)
Commands and Colors: Epic Napoleonics
Fields of Despair (WWI block game from GMT, though that might slip out of this year)
Conan
Cthulhu Wars Onslaught 2 stuff (assuming it's this year)

Sounds cool. In keeping with the Mars theme, I'm waiting to hear opinions on Stronghold Games' Terraforming Mars.

The Dragon & Flagon
The Fog of War

Thanks for the opportunity for a self-serving post.

In non-me games, definitely keeping an eye on:

Seafall
First Martians
Terraforming Mars
