Desert Island Game

Had a neat conversation about "what game would you want in your suitcase if you had to parachute out of a plane and landed on a desert island". That's a little different than the usual question about "best games ever" and whatnot, primarily because of the size restriction.

THUS:
If you were in that situation, using a carry on bag (9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches), what one game/game system/etc would you be OK with living with for the rest of your life (short as it may be on a deserted island) playing with.

Let's assume one other person survived, unless you want to go the Wilson route.

First person to say Robinson Crusoe must hand in their FAT card for delivering a horrible joke.

So, a two player game? And I clearly don't have room for terrain, modelling supplies, etc? And we're not going with a simple deck of cards?

Simple choice

Easy to customize for campaigns, scenarios, larger battles, mixed forces, whatever! Dice, random tile setups, random card draws and hidden information keep every game fresh. I think it would be the best fit for me.

Second option would be.

Great 2-player game, but not as customizable as my first choice.

No, ANY game. Obviously a two player game makes sense but the context of the conversation was simply "two people are available and it's the only entertainment other than masturbation"

My answer was:
"One set of Rise of the Valkyrie, bricked, plus Ticalla, plus Road, plus as many 3-squad multiples as I could smash in the remaining space."

Carrom, I could play that damned thing forever. Although it's ridiculous size works against the nature of the question. I could fit Mage Knight and its expansions in a side bag. With length and AP issues out of the way due to infinite time the game would probably improve.

I really enjoy The Duke. And it seems that the concept allows for different pieces to be created and asymmetrical forces to be set against each other.

Cave Evil. Without a doubt. I've soloed this a number of times and the setup can be variable.

Two-player game that fits in a carry-on bag and needs to offer a lifetime of replay value? I can think of three possibilities:

1. Arkham Horror with all the expansions. To make it all fit in the bag, I use two of the big boxes, taking out the plastic trays so I can make it all fit. If necessary, a couple of the small boxes could handle any overflow in parts.

2. Magic: the Gathering, with at least one of each unique card plus 50 of each basic land type, stored in three 5,000 count card boxes.

3. 504. This would be my distant third choice, as I suspect that most of the 504 games aren't that fun.

I might go with the Napoleon 20 series, since the base system is great, there's a lot of scenario variety, and you can jam multiple games into the same box. Those of you who still don't own Fading Glory will eventually be despondent, as it's OOP and slowly disappearing. They were selling it for $25 at the last WBC, which made me cry. Won't someone save the children?

Mage Knight is probably a good choice, due to its wildly different setups and small footprint, luggage-wise.

If I could cram it in though, I'd consider Earth Reborn.

Most of this stuff is going to end up as kindling within 24 hours. C&C Ancients has a lot of wood components... GO pieces could be used as slingshot stones for small birds maybe. Sorry, I'm channelling Survivorman.

I'm stealing this reply for any future desert-island-item-question I have the opportunity to answer in my life.

I think I´d take Lord of The Rings LCG with all expansions. or Netrunner with all expansions.
