Wow, so it's finally done? I remember it was completely scrapped so they could redo the whole game earlier in the year. Nice.

Yeah, I've seen people playing it for the past couple weeks at the FFGEC in Roseville MN. It really looks well-produced (for an LCG) but I didn't pay enough attention to get any gameplay specifics.

I was reading on ffg just now and I like the objective theme for building your deck. I hate building decks for a ccg or lcg so this streamlining really appeals to me. Seems like less of a pain in the ass. More playing and less preparing for the game.

The deckbuilding is brilliant.

Are you really going to say that dragonstout, and not elaborate, making me go look into it for myself?

Our very own Ken has betrayed us and given his opinion to the wrong website. I don't know if this is burn at the stake worthy or not but see for yourself.

Actually I posted that to shut up the whiners. On here, we have a much more respectable, reasonable crew in no need of such "education."

Ska, the deal is that every card is part of a six-card (numbers might be off, whatever) "objective set". When you build your deck, you just choose a number of objective sets (10, I guess, for a 60-card deck? Not sure what the deck limits are, as I said ignore my numbers). One of my absolute least favorite things about deckbuilding is worrying about getting ratios right and fiddling with tiny percentage changes: should I play 2 of this card, or 3? Boooooooooring. This does away with that completely, and most importantly, allows for genuine CASUAL, throw-shit-together deckbuilding, which is practically a holy grail as far as I'm concerned, and something I never expected to see.

Ken, people are whining about the deckbuilding? They're fucking NUTS. There are a half-dozen other games they can play if they want to deckbuild in the usual way.

I love the way the game handles deck building. I'm not overly fond of building decks, but I like card games so this is perfect. Also, I believe I can get more of my friends to by into a - seemingly - simple game.

From reading reviews and rules it also seems like there's a lot to like about the gameplay, but time will tell.

It's like, I love Magic, but I hate the shit out of trying to build a good deck. My shop owner buddy helps me out with putting together a good running deck, then I tweak it over time.

It was that deck building that turned me off the LOTR LCG. I might actually try this SW one.

I'm moderately excited about this game, actually. X-Wing rekindled my love for GOOD Star Wars, I'm pretty jazzed up for a great SW card game with all OT stuff. I just put in the order for two cores, I usually just do one for the LCGs but I want to get the full deckbuilding option.

I really love the multiple card pack deckbuilding idea, it is an absolutely cracking idea. It would make deckbuilding a much less intimidating project, too. Also, thematically, it makes things like differences in balance between cards sensible (i.e. tie fighters might suck, and you would never use them on their own, but they might come with Darth Vader or whatever who is super powerful). I've always wanted a logical way to include asymmetries in power in CCG/LCG.
