Somewhat topical! The Tavern Brawl this week has a deckbuilding theme. Only cards from Basic and Classic sets, and no Epics or Legendaries allowed. I was playing against a Zoo deck, and I swear I don't think this person has ever experienced Priest Wild Pyro tricks. I just TORE UP his board on turn 5 with Pyro and some spells, and he immediately conceded. Do folks not know that this is a thing anymore?

Priest, despite its flaws, has access to a decent deck in this format:
Northshire Cleric, Wild Pyromancer, Injured Blademaster, Circle of Healing, Auchenai Soulpriest, Power Word: Shield, Shadow Word: Pain and : Death

...after that just bolt on whatever you want. I had Silence + Ancient Watcher, along with Divine Spirit + Inner Fire. You might want Mind Blasts and Holy Nova/Fire. Whatever floats your boat. I would pack Acidic Swamp Ooze for Warrior/Hunter though, they won't be able to resist War Axes and Eaglehorn Bows.

This week's Tavern Brawl is a pauper brawl: only classic and basic cards, and no epics or legendaries allowed. I was going to suggest a pauper mode for some of the tourney games so anyone interested should check it out.

Ha! My F:AT avatar was Clarence Boddicker from Robocop for the longest time before I switched it. I used Boddicker for my HS username because it was considerably shorter than SebastianBludd.

As for the Tavern Brawl, I only played once and beat a midrange Hunter, I guess? I've never been great at recognizing decks and the pauper rules don't help. My opponent was running a Knife Juggler, Ironbeak Owl, Scavenging Hyena, Savannah Highmane, Eaglehorn Bow and Freezing Trap.

I have a Rogue quest so I constructed an anti-aggro deck because I figured that's what I would face. My opponent didn't play any minions for her first several turns such that by the time they started putting minions out my hand was just full of answers and I closed out the game rather easily.

I'll try to play, but my availability might be spotty. Switched jobs recently, and I've been spending a lot of time flying, then madly trying to catch up whenever I'm not.

So slot me in, and if I have to forfeit a round to keep things moving I'm cool with that. I'll do my best, though.

I've really soured on HS lately because I seem to encounter only jackasses. Of course, I'm not a very good player, either, so those two combine to put me on tilt pretty easily. It will be nice to play with people I know, and it won't bother me nearly as much if you end up being jackasses, too.

NappyD #1973. It wouldn't let me have Napoleon Dynamite which is what I usually use. If they made s movie of my life they would have to get John Heder to play me as we look alike.
