Gen Con 2012

Alright, who's going? I'd like to game with some of you Fatties, especially if I haven't had the chance to meet you yet. I also want to have a second annual Gen Con Dune game and I'm looking for players. Anybody interested?

I'm going with a couple of my friends. We have board room passes for all of Friday and Saturday. I'd definitely be up for a meet-up. I hope you like alcohol.

Will be there, but only for Friday/Saturday afternoon.

Mostly, I'll be in the Dealer's room showing off Battle Beyond Space. And just wandering around...And trying to edge my way into True Dungeon--which is totally my sort of thing.

I'll be there as well, all four days. Hope to spend some time demo'ing Space Cadets with the final artwork (if I get off my ass and make another playtest set) as well as general gaming.

Would love to get a Dune game in (Dune, right? Not Rex?). Saturday afternoon/night or Sunday morn work best for me, if it matters.

I'm there for the whole four days. I totally want to try Space Cadets- not trying it is my one big regret from Conncon. Jeff, where are you going to be demoing it at? Please let me know.

Frank- I'm assuming you'll be at the Z-Man booth. I'm buying a copy. I want it signed. I want a Croke rematch sometime in the not-to-distant future. I demand satisfaction!

Dair- I'd be totally down with playing Dune- but I'm a virgin- no prob if the answer is no.

Heh, it's awesome that Fatties are ever more present at Gencon.

Not sure where I'll be with Space Cadets. Stronghold told me (gently) to stay out of the booth. They don't have much space and want to demo games they can actually sell.

Last year there was an open gaming room, but you had to have a ticket to get in, which was kind of lame. But I'll probably be in or around that.

I'm there all 4 days with a full pass (VIG companion badges rock, BTW), though I spend about half my time playing RPGs as this is pretty much the only time all year I get to do it. If the time works out and you have a space, I'd love to play Dune (also a virgin, though I recently picked up the game so I've at least read the rules). Regardless, it'd be great to get some random gaming in with some of you misanthropes.

And moofrank, I think we might have some extra tickets for True Dungeon Thursday night, but I'm not sure. We usually buy out our TDA events (since we have 8 people and we've had bad experiences with randoms), but this year was really tough to get them, so I'm not sure. If we do, we can just pretend you're an important game designer and they'd probably let you tag along. But, I may just require you to sign my copy of BBS.

I'll be there Wednesday through Sunday. I don't have any scheduled events in the evenings on any night. I'm also trying to find some unofficial Wednesday pre-con evening boardgaming somewhere. I'm free pretty much any time except while I'm hitting up the Dealer Room while its open on Thursday and Friday.

I'm interested in playing Dune but I have same problem as the others - I've never played it before. I don't know if that's a deal breaker or not. I tried to get into a Dune game last year at GenCon but the group I was trying to play with couldn't make the schedule work.

Otherwise I'm up for playing pretty much any other types of boardgame (AT, Euro, whatever). It would be nice finally game with some the Fatties.

James, you should get out and explore GenCon. Play SW all you can, of course, but seriously, there's a lot of games out there other than Summoner Wars and Heroscape, brother.

I'm going this year but but only Wed., Thursday morning, and Sunday. Math refresher class and two performances of "The Odd Couple" cutting in to my gaming time.

I probably won't be playing that much Summoner Wars.

Ry can't make it to GC, so he passed EO duties on to me.

I'm not signed up for any SW or HS tournaments as a participant.

I might be the only one, but I really hate playing long games at Cons. I'm too tired and don't like learning something new unless it's a proto.

Wait a minute...you're OK learning and playing a long proto that might suck balls, or not, rather than learn and play a long game that is widely hailed as one of the best thematic games of all time?

I'd love to know, in all sincerity, why that's the case.

I will be there from Wednesday evening through Monday morning. I would be interested to meet some FATties (I wanted to go to Trashfest this year, but the timing was bad). I would be up for a game of Dune (I've played Rex, but not Dune), depending on when it is. Sunday morning would probably be best for me.

I'll be there and would love to put some faces to names, although I suspect my schedule is too booked up to jump into a big game of any sort.
