City of Remnants is _great_. I'm not sure why it didn't catch on. Some of it is probably the title, which doesn't really say much about the game.

I'm not surprised to hear about the Kickstarter booths...very depressing. That's practically like saying to the customer "Back this project so you can help us reimburse ourselves for the cost of this booth!"

If you don't like City of Remnants I don't know what to tell you. That game is up there with Clash of Cultures, Chaos in the Old World, Merchants and Marauders, Blood Bowl TM, Cyclades and Eclipse as the best of the "New Classics." It definitely has staying power in my group. We've only played it a few times and we're considering a house rule or two (Winning a combat gets you... something, we're thinking maybe 2 VP or $5,000, it's too risky at this point, but again we're still noobs so we won't futz with anything just yet)

As for buzz... I dunno, Pathfinder and Bioshock will be mine, but beyond that, meh, and you know what, good. I have too many games already. I really want to like high command but everyone is scaring me off of it. Disc Duelers will get snagged (Did anyone get to play Level 99's Seven Card Slugfest? That's the one I'm really looking forward to.)

Me neither. I miss Stephen "hates FAT now" Avery and didn't even know he designed a game. Is it tanktop themed?

I'm *not* serious... Avery co-designed a game with Tom Vasel and that was also the last word from him on F:AT. So my joke is that he shrugged off his F:AT roots in favour of board gaming millions. I have no actual clue to what really happened.

Fun times this week with Mr Avery...

Buonocore convinces us to join him at Hooters (seriously, dude is the best/worst!) and Avery joins us a bit into things. Slides right up next to my friend, introduces himself and puts his hand over hers. She's like soooo uhh whats up with that wedding ring that's now resting on my hand. Ladykiller Avery without missing a beat says "oh this?" pulls it off his finger and into a pocket "It's a fake, I just wear it to keep the other women away."

I almost totally forgot this story thanks to a weekend of complete insanity. Avery creepin on my lady friends is old news and pales compared to my adventures with porn stars, fist fights with publishers at 4am outside bars and the huge amount of general mayhem we brought to an unsuspecting Indy. Seriously, why do you guys go to these things and play games?
