Hi,

As per the title. I've just registered on here after using BGG alot for the past year and I'm new'ish to boardgames. Wish I found this site earlier as I spent £££'s on crap games. Just wondered if there was anyone around my area on here ?

Consider it a rite of passage.

I keep my copy of Blue Moon visible as a reminder of what can happen to you if you believe everything you read on BGG...*sigh*

Well I've ended up with Cuba, Agricola and Stone Age thinking worker placement's are good as there high up on bgg rating when really I now know that I hate worker placement's, give me dice and boards like LnoE and Arkham anyday. I just do not get how you get enjoyment of placing a worker somewhere and getting some bit's of wood or stone and doing this for 2 hours then you work out how many fictory points you got, great wow. Sorry I just fell asleep talking about worker placement.

Suppose I should of put this in the Bitchfest section, I did post on bgg about how I didn't like worker placement's, that went down well ! seems you have to like Stone Age and Agricola etc !

I still have a soft spot for Puerto Rico but that's about it. The biggest trouble with worker placement games is that they're all the same - played one, played 'em all.

UK F:ATties are kind of spread out as you'll see from the map although with me in Bath, Tom in Swindon and Adrian in Didcot the M4 corridor is over-represented. We've been kicking the idea of a UK meet-up around for ages but it never seems to get off the ground, largely thanks to me and my demanding kids meaning I never have time for anything, ever.

Heck,

the only UK FAT meetup has been me and Schweig! You bunch of pom losers (that includes you too, Old Man)!

I had a meet-up with KingPut in Oxford in November and plan to track Notahandle 'the Not-around-much' after Christmas. Matt is just plain baby-bound these days and there's no one else anywhere close by. Admittedly the meet-up with Schweig and Notahandle feel thru.

Well, I take that back then, but am I wrong that to have a FAT meetup in the UK you need at least one foreigner?

Yeah, it's F:AT Policy Rule #13. UK ATers are so awesome that we're not allowed to gather in one place.

Have you not seen British football crowds ?!! If you get more than one Brit from any more than 10 miles apart then they'll be at each others throats at some stage - you foreigners act as either a distraction to unite against (especially if you're German ;-p ) or to act as the ref.
