Visually intense and hilarious. Might put you to sleep with the overwhelming art of it.
I went to see this with three work colleagues. Three of us fell asleep half-way through the movie. It's not a boring movie. It's just so overwhelming to the senses that I think your eyes just blow out at one point. There's a ton of art in this movie, there is a lot of reading in this movie, there is a lot of heavy humour-ridden dialogue in this movie. All of these things put together make you really concentrate because why would you want to miss any of it?
When one of the most hilarious moments is a simple collective 'awwww' from a pack of dogs when a cage gets unlocked, you really need to be on your toes to catch all this little gems.
The voice acting ranges from unbelievably great (Jeff Goldblum, Bill Murray) to okay-I-guess (Scarlett Jo), and obviously this really elevates the film to more than a bunch of pretty animated sequences.
The movie drops off a bit over time, but it's a joy to watch and experience. I'm still waiting for his next Moonrise Kingdom though.
