Old quote I found on BGG that made me smirk:

If that 40K is football for geeks (which it is- four hours of talking and about 10 minutes spent actually playing), then Confrontation is more of a fencing match, much more refined and requiring more finesse. It's a really great product all around, the minis are the best in the business, practically everything you need to play is in the pack (no buying Codexes and all that nonsense), and most figures are good for all three Rackham games (Hybrid and Rag'narok as well). The gameplay is dramatic and engaging and the rules, after a short learning curve, are sensible and simple. Oh, BTW, I hate miniature games in general.

Ha ha, what an ass I was being.

I did really hate minis games at that time, for sure. I was so over it. Mostly because of where Warhammer was at the time...and this was actually right before I got into Warmachine pretty big.

The funny thing is that the comment about the minis working for multiple games is something GW does now.

Yeah, no hate here as people changing their minds should be something we celebrate (and I know I have plenty of comments from 15 years ago that I'd disagree with). Just thought it was funny.

There's a big Confrontation Kickstarter running right now with a buyin that ONLY allows you to pickup all 16 factions in the game along with the rules for $400. Led me to this comment.

Oh, we’re you looking because of the Confrontation KS? I am MIGHTY tempted...but it’s dumb, you get like 180 minis from all factions...I would totally get back into Dirz and Griffin...I _loved_ those models. Griffin in particular, they looked like Brotherhood of the Wolf/Castlevania dudes...at the time, they had the best miniatures on the market. But MAN they were a bitch to put together. Pinning/green stuff ESSENTIAL.

I had a ton of this stuff, mostly painted. All stolen. I never played the FFG version of it.

Yeah, I considered the Kickstarter just for a moment. If I didn't have any minis games, the appeal of a complete game like this would maybe propel it, but I'd rather just stick with Gaslands and Necromunda.

At the time (2004/2005/2006) it was really nice to have a minis game that didn’t require you to buy 100 models...unless you wanted to play Rag’narok, which wasn’t nearly as good as Confrontation.

I had about $1500 worth of Confrontation sitting on my store shelves...doing nothing. I thought about clearancing it out but when Hybrid/Nemesis came out I started building, painting and playing Confrontation. By the end of summer 2005, I was selling $1500 worth of Confrontation a month solely by playing it in store. EVERYBODY had a Confrontation warband.

The rules were VERY shaky...the little mini rule book that came with each figure was next to worthless. But when you figured it out, it was awesome.
