So...has anyone actually played that B&N Space Marine Adventures game? How does it compare as a 40k co-op against Space Hulk: Death Angel?

I dig the challenge of Death Angel. Is SMA also challenging or a bit too much of an introductory product?

We love it. It’s really simpler than Death Angel, not as difficult. More fun, less rules. It has some Pandemic-y spawning effects and you can get really overwhelmed if you aren’t careful. It’s fun to play through the little mini-campaign, it can get quite tense in game three.

There are rulebook-suggested tweaks and some extra cards you can add to make it harder. Since I mostly play this with kids, we’ve not done them yet.

It's very much a kids game or for mainstream gamers, not hobbyists. SH:DA has more legs and is much deeper in my opinion.

I do like SMA though, and think it would be a perfect title to play with a 6-10 year old.

Sma also has rules that are comprehensible, so you can actually play it.

I was hoping there was a game about putting those murderous Genestealers away for 15 to life.

I don't comprehend what's so incomprehensible about Death Angel's rules. Always seemed pretty straightforward to me (Terminators can't turn easily, you know?) and I've taught it to many.
