Dreamblade is great - probably one of the best games I've ever played and the only game I've rated a 10 on "the other board game site." The beauty of is the theme. The fact that all the action takes place in the "dreamscape" makes the abstract board and strange abilities kinda realistic. And it has also allowed the designers to go all in on strange minis. And maybe a fantasy theme would have been better for the sales, but I know I wouldn't have started if it was all about orcs on an abstract board.
From an AT point of view I especially like the huge amount of dice that you roll. Yes, the better player and the better warband will ususally win, but the dice make everything rather uncertain and thus very tense.
Oh, and if you want to play before you buy (which is a little late for mr. Skeletor) Vassal has an excellent module with all the sets.
The store was crapping on about it being the 'last chance to get any dreamblade stuff, as WOTC are destroying their remaining stock at the end of the month.
