It does many of the things you describe. but not overly well.

As for whaling, I am sure you could do that with worker placement and deck building. With a deluxe Dick miniature.

I backed a six pack of Nemo's War. My confirm shipping address notice was emailed to me yesterday! It was supposed to be delivered Nov 2016, but whatever. I'm reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in anticipation of my copy arriving this month or next.

Printing began on 2/13 and they're locking down address changes soon. I have no idea what their actual delivery timetable is, though.

Grudunza wrote: A decent Indiana Jones themed game should exist, but doesn't. Meaty and big and epic like Arkham Horror, but with some modern polish. Includes some press-your-luck puzzly aspects, deduction, exploration, combat, traveling, and is playable either as a solo/co-op against AI baddies, or with someone controlling the Nazis or crooks. As a straight-up description, that's almost Fortune & Glory, except that was a tedious dice roller. Make it smart and require some real decisions and not just depend on the dice for everything. Eldritch Horror is pretty close, too, and better than F&G, but still not quite what I'd have in mind.

A new Indy movie is coming in 2019... FFG, get the license now and get to work!

This. Some mechanics from EH would be great. The board has to be a great big map - preferably with red travel arrows connecting overseas or air travel corridors.

/Who was Moby Dick's father? Papa Boner.
//I AM SO WEAK I COULD NOT PASS ON COMING BACK FOR A DICK JOKE
///One girl in HS legitimately thought Moby Dick was slang for the Clap.

A Dungeon Crawler that is as strategic and deep as a heavy eurogame.

There are at least a billion different dungeon crawlers out there but all seem to go for the same mixture of dice rolls, random events and flavour text on cards which I'm not very fond of. A tense, heavily calcuated game of odds, resource management and tactics has the potential of being amazing.

THANK YOU I AM ON MY WAY TO THE BANK BECAUSE OF ALL THE MONEY

I know we're talking board games here, but I've mentioned wanting a whaling video game. Something that gets it right. That was a frigging brutal business. Can you imagine cutting up 100-foot-long cows with knives bigger than yourself? ****ed up. Boiling big hanks of fat in kettles? The smell. Ugh. I bet they stank for a month after returning to port.

We watched a documentary on 19th century whaling in class. Whaling was the economic engine that fueled western expansion. Whaling ships were like floating startups, speculative ventures, engines of economic trade and killing machines. They heavily quoted Nathan Philbrick, who wrote "Into the Deep" and actually lives in Nantucket.

I really want to try it but I fear spending a lot of money on making a long, extremely complex game that my friends won't like.

Grudunza wrote: Gloomhaven?

Never heard of that game! What do you guys think? :)

Nemo has gotten a lot of good press, actually. I saw it on a gift list at Polygon.com, for example.
