The Arkham Horror card game is my preferred solo game as well. Different characters, play and cards shine without support, so it’s a new challenge from my campaigns with my wife.

Hopefully that’ll be shelved for a little while though as she’s off work for the summer and will actually have time to play.

Like others, The Arkham Horror LCG has been my go-to solo game.
I've dabble with Mage Knight, but haven't invested the time to really appreciate the rule set.
So, why not go for something even more complex?!
I got a nice copy of Magic Realm. One day, I will teach myself.

In the meantime, I got a copy of Gloomhaven. My Plano boxes arrived yesterday*, and I may start the organization this evening. I have a few (6?) minis to paint first.

*While attending Origins, I was on the verge of buying Broken Token's Gloomhaven organizer. Then I saw the $80 sticker price. A quick search online revealed I could do practically the same thing with some Plano boxes. $25.

This is the primary reason I haven't been back to Gloomhaven for a couple of months. Once I hooked up my xbox, it was just way easier to plop in front of the tv. Sadly, I actually found the solo boardgaming far more rewarding, but my laziness won out.

In terms of simple solo-friendly minis games:

The Walking Dead: All Out War is great if you like the source material. Most of the early scenarios are solo/co-op friendly.
Any of the Song Of Blades & Heroes variants are good solo.
Everyone should play Zombicide at least once, but it gets old fast.
I think I enjoy Star Saga (Mantic's sci-fi version of Dungeon Saga) but they need to beef it up with more scenarios pronto.

I tried some of the Two Hour Wargames books, but either I just don't understand them, or I find them annoyingly packed with oceans of modifiers and RPG elements.

I've solo'd things hard and then moved on, many times over the years.

These have stuck around:

Space Hulk: Death Angel
Gears of War
Camp Grizzly
Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition

X-Wing with Heroes of the Aturi Cluster looks to be a keeper as well.

I like WD: All Out War quite a bit, but I'm thinking of getting out of it. There's just too much and it's difficult to keep up and grab all the boosters. I need less lifestyle games at this point.

You're not wrong, it is a lot to keep track of. I see the major OLGS have the next wave ("Fear The Hunters") up for pre-order and for the first time I'm like, "Ehhhh... maybe I'll sit this wave out."

It's blowing my mind that FightCityMayor shows up, and he's digging on Mantic games.
Charles, FCM, and I need to get together to play through a Star Saga campaign.

Or whatever. I'll buy the first round.

Star Saga's pretty good. I really dig how they blended some miniature game concepts (range being a ruler) with board game, and the mission set/campaign is very good.

FCM can be found on the BGG forums for Mantic games. Hard to ignore the punching kitten.
