Request for Barnes Review of NEW SW Trailer!

Finn (John Boyega) is a New Order stormtrooper that deserts during some kind of atrocity business on Jakku (the not-Tatooine) planet. He somehow comes into possession of Luke's lightsaber (and possibly his hand if some early reports are to be believed). Captain Phasma (Brienne of Tarth) is dispatched to find Finn because of some reason that isn't clear yet- maybe he has some plans for the Starkiller or whatever, I don't know that yet. On Jakku, he runs into Rey (Daisy Ridley), who is Han and Leia's daughter- so Rey Solo, obviously. They've kind of hidden this, but I'd bet $10 this is the case. She is also the main character, and I expect a romance with Finn. She's also in the Resistance (the sort of new rebellion), and winds up on the run with Finn- presumably to find Luke, who has gone into a Yoda-like isolation. Luke is going to train Finn, but I think Rey is not going to have force sensitivity for some reason. Dameron Poe is the hotshot pilot role, not sure how he figures into the story but he has some kind of relationship with Finn based on what is shown in the little mini-trailers. Kylo Ren- and now I'm just totally speculating- is Luke's son. He's gone to the dark side, and he has an obsession with his granddad- Vader. He somehow has Vader's helmet, which he's modified for his own purposes. I think he's going to turn out to be a self-taught Sith, not actually affiliated with a master. He's built his own lightsaber, which is why it's crude and sounds broke down. There's this talk of Knights of Ren, which leads me to believe that Ren is an appellation like Darth. But I think this gang are going to be sort of like neo-Nazis that venerate the Sith like the SS or something. I think it is also going to turn out that the major arc of the three films is going to be Luke possibly sacrificing himself to redeem Kylo, which would be a sort of inversion on the Luke/Anakin dynamic. Finn is going to turn out to be something of a surrogate son for Luke, which may spark him to try to save him from the dark side. Kylo's mom? I dunno, Mara Jade? But I think the cause of her death is going to be a story point

I've probably got at least half of that wrong, but I think half is right based on what I've seen. Check back December 19!
