The Fortress of Horror Returns

The Fortress of Horror is set to return September 1st. I'm already hard at work finding some new movies to watch and share this year and I've got a few other cool surprises in store, the biggest being a companion podcast. 15-30 minute episodes where I'll be joint by my very good friend, Mr. Egg Shen, where we'll talk about a variety of spooky topics. Favorite Halloween memories? Favorite horror movie endings? Which Monster Cereal mascot will we be voting for and just how much Ecto-Cooler did I buy this year? All the answers to these questions and more await!

As for the standard movie articles, I certainly don't want to do requests, per say, I will take a look at recomendations, so send them along! The sooner you get them in, the better chance I'll be able to get them in!

I'd like to hear your opinions on some of the following:

What We Do in the Shadows
We Are Still Here
It Follows
The Final Girls
You're Next
The Guest

I know some of those films will probably be hated, but it'd be interesting to hear/read your thoughts.

You guys named a quite a few I fully intend on doing this year

I actually wrote up It Follows and Night Breed last year but wasn't happy with the articles and ended up canning them. I want to try my hand at them again, I certainly have things to say about them.

Tombs of the Blind Dead

I love the visual style of that movie so much. I've been trying to find a way to integrate the aesthetics for a comics project for a long time.

So You're Next...

I really, *really* loved this one. But what I got hung up on is actually the selling point of the
movie. See, I am NOT AT ALL into the "home invasion" subgenre. I like my horror to be a little fun or, at least packed with atmosphere. I detest the purely cruel shit, and given that's what home invasion is all about, I didn't watch You're Next for quite awhile.

But, as those who have seen it know, that's not at all what the movie is. But you can't talk about that. It's one of those that benefits from not knowing much about it, but most people I know who are into horror are like me and can't stand home invasion flicks. So writing about it is going to be a trick,

I don't know what any of this means, but I'll probably love it. I'm a horror fan. I'm a gore fan. I'm a horror gore fan.
A lot of good suggestions thus far.
How about some anthologies?
Creepshow
Creepshow 2
Tales from the Darkside
Necronomicon
or a real gem,
Trick or Treat

Could you please cover the alt-horror classics:

Resolution

and

Spring.

Hopefully you'll thank me, if you've never seen them.

Drew are you talking about the Yuzna Necronomicon anthology? That would be a great one. It's sadly overlooked, not sure it has ever been released in America.

Stuart Gordon's Dagon, which is kind of an adaptation of Shadow over Innsmouth, would be a good pick too.
