Unless I'm misreading something, it sounds like mostly a Haas Bioroid expansion- not so much an expansion to the full game. It also appears to be not necessarily a big box (i.e., the size of the cores), but one of the "deluxe" expansions like Khazad-Dum, Heirs of Numenor, and the Hobbit things for LOTR.

I dunno, more Netrunner is great but I think I'd rather not see faction-specific expansions. I guess this is really good for folks that only play Haas Bioroid in tournaments or whatever.

I love all the crazy things they are starting to do:

You have a Shaper ID, Kit, who can add codegate to the first ICE encountered but has only 10 influence to spend. On the other hand you have an new HB ID that has 22 influence but no Jinteki can be added (make sense because both corps are at exact odds wtih each other in the Android world).

You have a Shaper card than can rearrange all ICE after a successful HQ run and an HB upgrade that allows you to rez any piece of ICE on it with a reduced cost of 7 credits provided the runner broke through all the other ICE.

I hope this is the beginning of some expanding flexibility in Netrunner cards.

Sounds like they are going to follow the formula used by Game of Thrones LCG. Have the chapter packs but also release one larger expansion for each faction.

This first is for Haas Bioroid but it won't surprise me when they make a similar expansion for the other corps and runner factions in turn.

It's mainly a Haas/Shaper expansion with about 20 Haas/20 Shaper/10 neutral cards. If the corporate/runner specific cards are at least moderately splashable, I don't find it offensive. I'd certainly prefer a bit more NBN though since I seem to be one of the few brain damaged folks still playing them.

I've never bought into a LCG and this week was setting up my first game of Netrunner to see if it'd be the one. I'm already starting to feel behind. I know this is on me for not buying in at the beginning, but how much would it set someone back to get all the Netrunner stuff up to this point?

1 X Core Set -- $25 (40 retail)
3 X Small Box Expansions - $10 (15 retail)

If you're really serious about tournament scene you might want 2 x Core Set, so...

Between $55 and $80. Which really does give you a tremendous amount of material. They are doing Netrunner justice, for sure. I've never done an LCG before either. This one is great.

Yeah, I'm just bitchin'. I'd buy a lump of shit in a Netrunner box.

Just wish I could actually play the game more without venturing out to some god forsaken CCG hall or something.

You can start small, don't sweat it. Get the base and grok the rules. You'll know how far you want to go after that.

I know what you mean Barnes - I took my first venture in a long while to those halls and it was surprisingly well lit with hygienic gamers. There were very few, umm... outliers in that group. Though this was in a fairly affluent area of Houston.

And yes, there is quite a bit in just the core box for $25. Enough for some moderate deck-building to keep two folks busy for some time.

2.0 versions of bioroids, the first 5-influence cards, Director Haas (!)...hopefully they have a string of these medium-box expansions lined up so the factions don't stay imbalanced for very long.
