Magic: Homeland 5 cent card decks...?

ok good tip, I'll mention that to the guys. Pauper Standard sounds fun!

When Homelands first came out my friends and I made mostly Homelands decks to try and get some use out of this bunch of junk. For some reason I build mine around the Black Carriage, a crappy 4/4 creature with Trample that cost BB3 and didn't untap:

My deck was garbage of course, but my friend Chris let out a gasp when I summoned a Sengir Vampire.

"Relax," I said. "It's a proxy for a fourth Black Carriage, because I only had 3."

The Sengir Vampire had the same P/T and same casting cost, so it made sense to use it as a proxy but damn if it didn't really draw a line under how shitty this set was.

lol, what an awful card! Already I'm finding my Baron Sengirs expensive at 8 cc.

That Black Carriage should cost like 2 cc at best.

Dragonstout had a great suggest to order a full playset of Pauper Standard which would only come to 30$ or so. We could then all build decks from that entire group of cards and it would only be like 15$ to update each year. I already bought my homelands deck but that's a great suggestion.

Serrated Arrows is the only card worth talking about here. It's playable in every deck. Automatic 4x.

What about pump knights, weren't those in the this set? Knights of Stromgald? Hmm. Nope.

Jeez, this is a sorry lot.

Ihsan's Shade was OK for the era, but that was an era with good white removal (Swords to Plowshares). 5/5 for {6} for no real gain is blarg.

Autumn Willow is playable too, but isn't she a legend? You might be better off with Goblin Mutant/Goblin Grenade. At least the games will be short. ...and Goblin Mutant isn't there either. What a clusterfuck.
