Magic 2015: Duels of the Planeswalkers was created by Black Barney
Man, am I ever excited for this year's Duels of the Planeswalkers geek-Madden release.
It sounds like this one is all about deck building. After the tutorial you have to pick 2 colours and they give you a low-power deck. As you make your way through the campaign, you get booster packs. You eventually will have enough cards to make custom decks from the ground up.
Unfortunately, there will be premium booster backs that you can only buy with cash (micro-transactions). Which means, for the first time ever, you can't actually farm out rewards to get every card in the game.
To prevent people with deep pockets from ram-rodding anyone that doesn't spend money, they are putting new limitations on deck construction with maximums of the following per card per collection
4x common
3x uncommon
2x rare
1x mythic
Still amazingly no release date tho. Will be available on PC, iOS, Android, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Kindle.
I'll be playing on Xbox One to start but might plunge into iOS as well.
For people that are planning on getting it, which two colours do you think you'll choose? I have almost always gone blue/black because it's fun but I am the world's worst Control player and that seems to be a common theme for that mix. The most powerful decks in past iterations have been mono-coloured so I'm really not sure what to pick. That's going to be a really tough decision and I'm worried that I might regret my decision rapidly.
Just curious what other people were thinking.

I'm happy that they put limits on it, that makes those like me a bit more eager to play. I've always liked straight up black decks, but also like green and red, tough choices...
I haven't read anything about the game really, so I don't know what to expect in terms of card selection. I'm hoping green gets a boost this time around.

I always try red/blue to see if it will work. Ever since Paul McCabe's 1997 World Championship deck, this has been my go to color scheme. But, barring that, big green.

I think you and Pug are in for a treat cuz this year's theme in the game is all about Garruk so I'm sure they'll go heavy on the green.
The creatureless red/blue deck from 2014 was so annoying to play against.
I think I might try white/red just for fun but I dunno.
I'm really worried if there are no decks that you unlock and tweak. The sealed deck component of 2014's was everyone's favourite aspect but it was actually my least favourite. I'm a terrible deck builder from scratch. I had good cards to build a decent green/blue deck but it can't even beat the practice deck (with all the 1/1 white fliers). Ugh, so depressing.
