i'm making a game and need some help was created by mads b.
So, here's the thing. I've made a zombie game called The Living. It's a heavily story driven coop that's inspired by choose your own adventure games and which is playable right out of the box. The pitch and link to BGG info is below. Now, we're kickstarting the game in August, but prior to that I would love to get a prototype into the hand of some of you guys. So here is what I propose:
I will send a prototype to one of you if you promise to send it to another game group when you've played it. You don't have to write about it, review it, provide feedback or anything, I just want it played by a lot of people. Obviously I believe that if you play it, you will love it and plug it shamelessly come August, but that's just me hoping.
Anyways, let my know through PM or on brynnum (at) gmail (dot) com if you are interested.
The Pitch
The Living is a storytelling game and pure coop. The players control a bunch of survivors, and each round they have to explore their surroundings for much needed supplies. But more importantly each round has a story event that puts them in a tough dilemma. These events form a branching story. It's a zombie game, but it's not really about the living dead. Instead it's about how you survive, how you treat your fellow humans and so on.
Mechanically you will now and then be asked to make tests where you roll dice to get successes. The amount of dice depend on the keywords on your items or your characters, and if you are stressed or wounded or bitten, you will probably roll fewer dice. And since it is a zombie game, all dice rolls come with a risk.
The game is playable right out of the box. You do not need to read rules, but will be asked to make decisions before you know everything - much as you would in real life. Like Time Stories the main story can be played maybe 3 or 4 times before you have explored all the branches, but we hope to put more than one story in the box. And we know of several testers who have enjoyed to play it with new players even if they themselves had "completed" the story.

If it’s in my hands by June 7, I’ll do it. I can ship it out to the next victim on June 21. It will be played several times.

Sounds great. We are, however, waiting for the latest files from the layouter, so maybe the 7th is a bit optimistic. I'll see what I can do.
Also, if postage for shipping it to the next guy is expensive, I'll be happy to cover it.

Nah, gratis.
Only reason for the timeframe is I’m going on holiday and will have a captive audience.

Assembling prototypes has taken longer than expected. I think we can start shipping some games next week. Pete, are you still interested? Or does anyone else want to join in? It is, obviously, a really good game
