This was one of the dumbest things that ever happened to me. We were on vacation with my dad and were doing tons of fishing. On the last day, we docked the boat and I attempted to get out of it onto the dock. I didn't get high enough and started to fall. I fell head-first into 3 feet of water. I'm 6'4" 400 pounds. I'm lucky I didn't die! As I did a quick scan to make sure nothing was broken, I realized that my Moto Z2 Force was in my pocket. We let it dry for two days. Plugged it in. DEAD. So now I have to replace my $700 phone which totally sucks. Help a brother out.
I only caught four fish all damn weekend.

Did you try putting your phone in a bag of rice? That sucks the moisture out of it. Might be too late now.

Uba, thanks for moving this.

I did the same thing when I was a kid, except the water was really deep. Hit the boat hard, got sucked under and surfaced several feet from where I went under. My parents were sure I was dead. To this day I still have the mark from where I hit the boat.

Nothing good ever comes out of boating.

I get on a boat a few times a year and haven't had any issues. Boating is fun and everyone should do more of it.

Lis has a spare IPhone 5 too, if you want it so you don’t have to be out a phone.

Dang, that's no joke! In my mid-twenties I spent six weeks in a back brace after cannonballing into a shallow lake. If I had gone in head first it probably woulda been sayonara.
All this to say: water, the outdoors, boats, and docks are all actively trying to kill us. Best to stay inside forever.
