KT has pretty much always been better than its corresponding edition of 40k. It's cleaner as there are less vehicles and superheavies. The table size also seems more plausible with the small number of units compared with two heavy forces fighting on what amounts to little more than two football fields.

TBH, I had the Tzaangors laying around, too. So just the four marines.

Normally, I hate painting Space Marines, but these were sort of fun. Duncan’s method (ie, prime with gold first) really worked in this instance.

Fourth tactical squad done. Somehow managed to break the painting block. Starter last Sunday, then we had a long weekend, and finished it on Saturday night.

I received it in a trade, but I’m not sure I would put hard cash on the $115 sticker price.

It’s a beautiful model, sturdier than it looks, easy to paint and assemble. But it’s just two sprues, and features almost no customization. Compared to the Great Unclean One kit at the same price, it’s not much.

I was gonna post a pic of the Space Wolves Kill Team I finished today but it looks like Apple Barrel crap compared to that coach.

Really want that model but yeah, I think it’s a little over priced.

Did you get an early copy of Tooth and Claw? At $190, that seemed a bit pricey, too, compared to their other kits. I sense a general price creep.

Not really, Tooth & Claw is $150, almost 60% discount. It's cheaper than the starters, yet contains multi part-plastic kits, not snap fits.

But yes, in general new kits are somewhat more expensive, especially that everything seems to be bigger. I mean... the bloodbound grunts are on 32mm bases.

Nah, it’s the Fangs of Ulfrich set- five Reivers and I added two Intercessors with Stalker Bolt Rifles to take it to 100 pts.

I got all of the KT starter sets including the Munitorium and Mechanicus boards and had a ton of extra terrain from them. Sold the excess sprues and wound up actually paying only about $30 for all of it. Didn’t need 3 Servohauler sets or 13 containers.

Genestealer Cults are the new Space Marines. They are in EVERYTHING.

I did get a notice that I’m on the list for Rogue Trader, early...

Unfortunately Genestealers are my least favorite 'Nids. Cults is probably the first 40k faction that I have negative reaction on.

Really sorry for the bad pic, had to do this very early in the morning when everyone's still asleep.

But finally finished an important milestone: got all the minis for my company! 80/110 painted. I know it's just "buying", but it took me 13 years!

Sevej, that's awesome on the company. Once you get those last 30 done I'd love to see a huge photo-shoot and see the different models and armor over 13 years and how it all comes together.

Here's what I have been working on over the past three weeks. Now that these are done I need to go back and finish up the project that's consumed my painting time for weeks prior that I needed a break from.
