Did you need to seal them or anything?

I seal everything I paint with that matt varnish from GW, including metal figs.

I'm pretty rough with my figs. Maybe it the climate or maybe I'm just lucky?

Khador.
Malifaux.
Runebound base game minis. These are a bugger to paint - not much detail and you have to apply the paint thickly to get it to adhere.

Once these have left my table, I will tackle Space Hulk.

I'm a speed + function painter also. So instead of knowing that the grey blob with the raised arm is my dude, and the grey blob with the hat is your dude, it can be the mostly green blob is mine and the mostly red blob is yours. Plus my painting assistant is only 10 years old.

I finally caved and bought Space Hulk. I've got a lot of painting ahead of me.

Fuck.

I swore I was done with this shit forever after I did those 100+ Hour of Glory minis in about a week.

I actually think crap basic boldly colored paint jobs look better at a distance than fancy pants ones with shading and ink and stuff. They stand out much nicer on the board.
Probably comes from my childhood with MOTU, whose bright bold colors are often attibuted to its success.

Well it makes sense. Look at all the crazy colors it used. The purples, the greens, the bright blues, the oranges. Especially the monster guys, none of them were really 'drab'. Colors are attractive to kids.

I just finished spray painting the WoR figures. Then I set up the game to see how it looks. It looks pretty good. Now I can separate Gondor Royal Blue from Rohan Teal Blue guys but now it was hard to separate Leaders from Elite units. Leaders have flags but I want the flags to stand out a little more so I'm going to dip the flags in white paint so they pop a little. I picked up the white paint at the games workshop store where the guy looked at me like I was an idiot for painting FFG figures. By the way they have about 5 Space Hulk games for anyone who does have one yet.

I have 4 Khador figures to do for a Warmachine tournament in late November. Would normally be a doddle, but 2 of them are Fenris on horse and on foot, and he just looks like a bitch to paint with lots of fiddly little ornamentation.

After them I am hoping to tackle my Space Hulk figures and get them done for the Space Hulk tournament at the end of January. They would already have been done if my first attempt at the dip method hadn't been a disaster. Now I have to strip 5 genestealers and work out how to do the dip method properly (I suspect I had the wrong dip or put too much on).

I have dozens of unpainted Orks and Space Marines lined up to paint.

I decided not to paint my Space Hulk set.

So I finally got around to starting my Halfling Blood Bowl team. It will consist of the six different 2nd edition miniatures (just obtained), the six different 3rd edition minis, Puggy Baconbreath, three halfling chefs and two different treeman (the Citadel treeman is pretty good, but there are other alternatives). I will theme and paint them as Bavarians:
