Dude...that’s so easy. If you’ve ever driven stick you can ride a bike.

I think there has been some serious dream inflation, at least in my culture, no doubt amplified by the media and advertising culture. I just saw an interview with Shaq, wherein he mentioned spending his $600k signing bonus in about two days getting cars for his family. The banker knew him, took him aside, and told him to knock it off. Then he interviewed a number of financial advisers and stuck with who he described as a little Jewish man who didn't try to rip him off. But my point is that where do you feel the need to buy a $150,000 car? Where do those dreams come from?
It used to be that many of us dreamed of maybe having a house and a family and not being broke all the time. But now I'm kicking myself in the nuts because I haven't written a book, or won some other lottery. Medium.org is filled with all of these self-help blogs written by 27-year-olds about how to become ever more efficient and wealthy. It's like startup Bro culture is this pernicious virus.
So I have put off, for years:
Organizing my shed (two years)
Playing a lot of boardgames, which I have sold, for the most part
Writing a book, or short stories, but I've started writing daily
Doing Yoga
Meditating
Getting better at the guitar
Reading more books. Although I probably read about ten a year, which is sad, and about 10,000 pages of internet crap.
Praying more. I need to piss or get off the pot with the whole religion thing, and by religion I mean daily practice, doing good things and working on being less of an angry a-hole.
