BB10K BAY-BEE!!

Even milestones as meaningless as the 10,000th post on the best website in the world open the door to a moment of reflection and looking back.

Almost a decade ago, Ken B invited me over here as a cool place to just chill out and hang. When I first arrived, I had the same reaction I think many new people have when they come here…. Like you’ve walking into the middle of a party you weren’t invited to. I’m glad I gave it time and stuck around since it’s been the most reliable info-snacking spot on these internets I’ve ever found.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank Repo for suggesting that I start writing movie reviews here, which I’ve really enjoyed doing. He even came up with the name for the column which fits perfectly here. I’d want to show appreciation and thank people like Grud and Greg for all the great movie discussions and recommendations. On that note, I should also thank Jeff White for indirectly telling me what not to watch. Most surprising over the years is the quality of the some of the deep-dive conversations in the forums with people like Shellhead, Jeb (oh, also when he posts Kristen Stewart in her short-shorts), and many others.

Knowing that I make a few users like Uba smile from time to time makes spending time here worth it, even if I’ve probably given 10,000 reasons for Chris to look into programming an Ignore User option

…and sadly, the answer is probably no. I swear if they make digital ports to xbox for some of these games you guys are talking about, I will certainly play them. For now it looks like Hasbro is the only one doing that and there’s only so much Battleship a man can take.

So thanks for putting up with this guy that barely plays any board games over all these years. Some of you I’ve had some really special connections with over the years on a great variety of subjects either on the forums or by PM. This place was a great source of support during my divorce as well and I can’t thank you guys enough for being there when I was in that hole.

... oh and I’m glad Booth is here too. I guess.

Of all the people I've met over the years online, only a small handful of them I consider truly friends.

I've known Black Barney for years, and he is one that I consider such. Which is super weird because we've never actually met face-to-face. A couple of silver spoons, if you will.

He's a good dude and places are better when he's there. That's why I invited him here in the first place, and I'm glad he stayed.
