Very small drill bits can be found in the Dremel tool section of your local hardware store. If you have a Dremel driver you could cut a straight paperclip at an angle and use that. You could also use the paperclip with the cut angle to hand-drill the small bitz. Using the paperclip as under-support would work as well, and you could use it as an excuse to give the ship a primer coat and a Wash, Sometimes ship repairs aren't pretty, but necessary.
Player 3 - fuck that guy. THREE HOURS overslept ? Then 30 minutes late this time ? I don't care if he texted. Analysis paralysis to boot. He's gone. He clearly has zero respect for other people's time.
Player 4 sounds salvageable. Hey he read the rules beforehand - something far too many people are too fucking lazy to do.
Firefly shouldn't be a game you play to win. That's why a lot of people hate it. With the right group you could have every player set their own personal goal and go after it independently. The epitome of an Experience Game
I agree. Firefly is an experience. I can't tell you who won the games I've played with my oldest son over the years, but I remember the time he was running all passengers with the Esmeralda, got hit by Reavers, limped to another planet, filled her up with passengers again, got hit by Reavers again. Didn't deliver a single person to their destination. Lots of blood, that game.
Yep, you play Firefly in the spirit of the show . Introduced to new guys to it last year and they just would not move the Reavers towards anyone else when they had the opportunity - I good-heartedly (most of the time) gave them shit so much that, at the end of the game, the finally did a few times ... but only at me
They play with me regularly and are both really nice guys, I just won't be pulling out Firefly for them again ... the game is not meant to be a nice pick up and deliver euro.
I can vouch that Mike is a great host and goes out of his way to make people feel welcome at his game days...
This sounds like an uncomfortable situation.
Although the bathroom situation leaves a bit to be desired. If I recall correctly there isn't a solid door, so you can hear everyone using the bathroom and I bet it doesn't do much to block the smell. It would have to be a big emergency for me to take a crap at someone else's house. Glad I missed this one !
Jon, I should have invited you, but 80 miles round trip is a big ask in mid-winter. The happy couple that I mentioned in the first post really wants to play Firefly again soon, now that they have seen the show, so I will be doing this again in the spring and inviting you. I won't invite #3, but #4 should be okay.
The bathroom door has slats in it, and is only about six feet from the game table, which is not ideal. Shy players use the one on the first floor. The fan switch is not obvious, and it took me nearly a year to discover it after moving in.
I have been procrastinating for a few days about contacting #3 to discuss anger management. Now I am going to hold off even longer, due to awkward timing. At lunch time today, I watched a phone video on Facebook of a couple of white women getting arrested by ICE in Minneapolis. I recognized them and know them to be friends or at least friendly acquaintances of #3 and his girlfriend. Also, the public schools in Minneapolis are closed today and tomorrow, due to a violent ICE raid at Roosevelt High School that included tear gassing kids. Now I'm too angry to talk to anybody else about anger management.
