Treated with the typical Looney Labs humor, Dog Fluxx gives...

As you may have heard, the big controversy in the Board Game world is that, after the release of Cat Fluxx, Doggo's have demanded equal time/equal Fluxx. Nope, never mind, that was all in my head. Of course Looney Labs had Dog Fluxx waiting in the wings after releasing Cat Fluxx.

So, do you find Fluxx as a game worthwhile? By that I mean: Do you look forward to it as a potential filler? I ask because I've only played the original, once, many years ago and barely remember it. But I see the general opinion filing it somewhere alongside Munchkin. Of course, given the huge number of versions (and expansions!) just like Munchkin, it's clearly worthwhile to a lot of people, so I know it's difficult to thread that needle ("This popular thing actually sucks-!")

I almost started this reply with "...as a reviewer" but that sounded pretentious as hell. Fluxx in it's various incarnations are like a comfort food. I have different configurations of gaming groups and one of those is Me, my wife, my sister in law and her daughter. And there are plenty of times when my SIL will say "I don't want to learn a new game." Most of the versions of Fluxx are perfect for that situation. We all know the standard Fluxx rules, it's light enough that we can play it when chilling/talking/vibing. I wouldn't say it was MY preferred filler but I will certainly pick it over playing Yahtzee, Rummy or Farkle. And I'll pick it over Munchkin (Yes, I own it and about a half dozen expansions).
In short/long, It's a worthwhile game for me in various situations. I'm not going to suggest it as a filler while we wait for that last person to arrive for Brass Birmingham but as a family fare filler with crazy swings where no one is ever truly out of the game, I enjoy it.

My one and only time playing Fluxx, it def overstayed its welcome. I was only playing it because it was at a coworkers house and the game was about as deep/difficult as they were willing to invest in .
