This looks fucking cool, comes out today. May appeal here because it's card based storytelling. Build your own cult.

From the people who made Sunless Sea, which I played and enjoyed despite its problems, and Fallen London, which I didn't play but hear was a great text adventure.

I bought it a couple hours ago (like 15-20 bucks? If you buy it now you get free dlc for life). I literally cannot describe this game and how weird and awesome it is. *Especially for people who play board games*.

I don't want to give anything away, not even tips. Just go in blind and fuck around and figure out the systems. In fact, I'll probably spoiler even minor stuff about the game and how it plays out from here on out. The discovery in this game is wild.

One mechanical note I want to impart: when you click on a card space, it will highlight the cards that are on the table that can socket into that space. Learning that made my life a lot easier after some trial and error.

Triple post on this. What it reminds me of is the *storytelling* promise of Arkham LCG. But it's dynamic, since it's all hidden behind the screen. And it can super surprise you with new card types, etc because you do not need to know the rules of everything beforehand. So it can do a lot of things narrativewise that Arkham can't do but might like to do.

This is totally hypnotic. I'm in. I could really handle a game like this.

You have to accept this mindset where you won't look online and don't want to get to the bottom of the algorithm as soon as possible. And you'll learn while you go along.

I just died from becoming too transfixed with my occult findings.

I kickstarted this, but I haven't actually played it yet.

Sounds like I better give it a whirl.

That's what I was hoping for, but I can't find a download link. Anyone got one?

So, you actually downloaded it and got it running? Argh!

Post screenshots!! They have this on Xbox One? I just replayed through Limbo for a 15th time , just for fun, new speed record! So I might be open to trying something new instead of Disney Infinity

If you do try Infinity, stick to Marvel or Starwars stuff. Their playsets are the best.

Since the servers no longer exist, you no longer have access to prebuilt toy boxes created by Avalanche Studios or the user base. So late adopters best choice to be able to play Infinity are figs that can be used with playsets. Those are mostly Marvel and Starwars with a few exceptions.

Yeah, it worked without any trouble on my laptop---have you been having trouble?

This is on consoles? That seems weird to me. Arranging everything constantly is part of the mental exercise for me and that would be tough with a controller.

I'm on a desktop tower. I simply can't find the download link that I paid for. Not in a mailing, on a website, nor in the GOG Galaxy 1.2.43 that I've already got.

I am at a real loss and if any of you guys have been playing I could really use some help. It's super weird because I literally cannot find anyone asking about this particular issue so it's making me feel really dumb or that I'm missing something absurdly obvious. FWIW, this concerns the otherwordly activities of the cult. So if you haven't gotten that far probably don't read:

Warning: Spoiler!

I'd be glad to help with anything I can as well. I've got most of the early game stuff down and I'm fairly stable. But again, the fun of this is banging your head against stuff for 20 minutes and figuring it out.

After dicking around for an hour or two, I finally figured it out. It was super simple, it's just in today's market it's not necessarily something you would think you'd have to do. Answer to previous spoilered question:

Warning: Spoiler!

I strongly encourage you to bang your head against things like I did. It's frustrating but when you do something new it's a fucking incredibly rewarding thing. Do *not* watch more than 20 minutes of that let's play that Barney linked (which is great!) because it will spoil the whole point of the game imho.

Sure, I had to hire, imprison and murder a "burly man" but you gotta break a few eggs. Look at this beautiful, beautiful boy I summoned:

He promptly stole some extremely incriminating evidence about the cult for me.

That one was for you, Barney.

I really think this thing is the best call of Cthulhu game ever. I am *obsessed* with it. My wife has been out of the country the last week and this game has usurped my equally obsessive Stellaris time.
