Steam Sale on (Steam Link $2.50+$8 shipping)

Just a heads up that the summer sale is on, great shit for almost nothing... if you can stomach steam of course.

Notable for me is that the steam link is $2.50 w/8 shipping, which is pretty nuts. There's a lot of ways to do the same thing but this one seems pretty convenient.

Anyway, I enjoy hearing what you guys are playing so let us know if you see any great deals that are worth looking at on shit you love. I decided to pick up oxygen not included, a management game from the people who did don't starve.

I was hoping to grab Space Hulk Deathwing, but it isn't on sale for some reason. I might get Fallout 4, or Tekken 7.

You can get my game, Record Store Nightmare, for a cool 99 cents. store.steampowered.com/app/722400/Record_Store_Nightmare/

I got a bunch of old stuff.

Fallout New Vegas (complete with all DLC. This is actually my first Fallout game!)

Half-Life 2 episodes 1 and 2 (0.79 each, and I've never actually played.)

Unreal Tournament (one of my favorite games from the turn of the millennium. Haven't played in years.)

New Vegas is great. Not what I'd pick for my first Fallout experience, but still a great game. I'd of course start with Fallout 1. :) I think Fallout 2 is superior but the beginning is a good place to start.

Bought Firewatch and Darkest Dungeon: both the lowest price they've ever been.

Never played a Fallout game and I don't intend to start at my age. Don't have time for such massive games anymore.

I was disappointed in the sale this year, based on what I was looking to get. Of course I'm usually willing to wait several years for a game to drop to a very low price. However some of these games were at the lowest they've ever been (thank you IsThereAnyDeal.com), despite not being as low as I would like. However, I had some money in my Steam Wallet from selling PUBG shit, so I picked up Axiom Verge (Metroid-a-like), Steredenn (shmup(?)), Hyper Light Drifter (Zelda-ish), and Cypher (cryptography puzzle game). I have $20 left, and since I know I will get Hitman 2, I was thinking of getting the Silver edition with my extra Steam Bucks. I'm still not sure about it though, since the info available seems kind of vague on what the bonuses include.

Was tempted by Hyper Light Drifter - wanted it since I watched my daughter playing a Zelda game on DS. Not quite cheap enough yet, though.

Yeah, if I didn't have the free money, I would have waited longer.

I've been tempted by the cheap Steam Links. It would be a second one, but since I don't use the one I have too much, I figured it wouldn't be worth it.

Nobody buys Steam Links, thus the cheap deal. My Samsung tv has the app built-in so I don't even need the device. I think they are largely superfluous.

I picked up Pyre for 8 bucks. Haven't played it enough to know if it's good yet, but it's beautiful and strange, which makes me optimistic.

Thanks for confirming this. I've been absolutely mystified by the need for them since they were released. Why spend RRP on a box that does the same as A FUCKING $1 HDMI CABLE.

I tried playing a game on my TV with the app but the quality was pretty bad even with a wired connection. I assumed it was the app, and I keep meaning to hook up my actual Steam Link to it to confirm, but I never have.

I used the steamlink app on my television one time, just to see if it would work. I loaded up Mortal Kombat X. The gameplay was functional, but the killer was loading time. This was wireless, so I'm sure wired would be better but that just isn't feasible in my house.

I don’t see how loading time would be affected by the TV. It is just mirroring your PC, which means your PC is probably the culprit for bad loading times.

I assumed it was because it was sending all the data wirelessly from my PC to the router and then wirelessly from the router to my television. It is true that my PC is slow. Thanks for shaming me... ;)
