Board Game Barrage - Shame! Shame! Shame!

Look, there's only so much time in the day, so we don't get to play every game we ought to. But some of those missed games hurt more than others, in fact, some of them are downright shameful. This week we're counting down the top five games we're ashamed that we haven't played. Before we atone, we also talk about Kobayakawa, Taj Mahal, and Twilight Imperium (Fourth Edition).

Great to see Taj Mahal getting discussed- such a great game. It is totally an auction.

It’s also pure Knizia- there are traces of this game up and down his ludography, and there are traces of his ludography all through this game. It’s a great example of how he is an iterative designer...others in this strain would be Colossal Arena and Beowulf.

It’s also one of his most Poker games...and the concept of choosing which battles/contests to NOT win is such a key element in so many of his designs.

And it is one of his most ruthless and unforgiving titles for sure.
