I know more about football than you

Assuming the email reminder arrives properly I expect to be accounted for every week! But the minute that thing fails there will be trouble! Where I live "Monday Night Football" is Tuesday Morning game...not quite the same feel.

Re: going nuts with football pools, I've been there! I used to be in countless fantasy leagues simultaneously while also engaging in pick'em pools. It destroyed my enjoyment of the games. Rather than enjoying watching a good football game I'd be hoping that one team won (sometimes needing them to cover a spread) while also hoping a specific player on the other team had a huge game....but not TOO huge a game as I was also playing against that same player in a different league.

Sucked all the fun out of it. Now I just do pick'em pools with no spread. I know what teams I want to win and am no longer left with conflicting motives (except when the Bills play...and them winning always trumps my desire for football pool success).

The Bills? Oh you poor bastard. As a Red Sox fan I was right there with you with the perpetual disappointment--but you know how that turned out for me. As a Pats fan, well, you know how that turned out too.

Couldn't agree more. It's much more fun to watch 22 guys in shorts run around for 90 minutes and then have the final score be 0-0.

I agree, I much prefer cricket. 5 days of batting and drawing because they can't bowl out the other team.

So I joined. I follow football pretty well, but really only for the last few years. So this is my first one of these. BE GENTLE.

Also, I hope I remember this. If not, hopefully I can be dropped or something.

You can edit whether or not you receive an email reminder to make your picks by clicking the Edit link next to your team's name on the page where you make your picks for the week.

Also, I've set it so the deadline is 5 minutes before any given game, so if you miss a Thursday game it only costs you that one game rather than the entire week.
