Who's an M. Night Shyamalan fan?

Ah, that takes away almost anything nice I can say about M. Night. Now all I can say is that he has picked some excellent Directors of Photography to work on his movies. These guys should find better directors to work for, because Shyamalan has three strikes against him now.

Shyamalan is the dissapointing director I love to like. Or something like that. I love how carefully blocked each scene is. I love his use of color. But yes, he falls a little short. Sixth Sense is a great ghost movie, very similar to some of the old black and white films that terrified me as a child. Unbreakable is just cool as hell. But from there he goes downhill. I enjoyed Signs, and was very appreciative of the old-fashioned story telling he employed in it. But something was lacking. I thought the Village was abyssmal, and I wanted to love that movie, even when it was breaking my heart with its stupidity. Lady in the Water is fine for what it is - a bedtime story he made for his kids. But as a movie it just doesn't work. The mythology is all over the place. I haven't seen the Happening yet, but I will though I have no hopes for it.

If Shyamalan could just get a good scary story from someone else, I think he could direct a hell of a movie.

I'm not reading ANY posts in this thread. Know why? Because if I found out someone was a M. Night Shyamalan fan, I would cut their heads off and crap down their throats. What a "twist" ending that would be.
