Seen this at my FLGS's Ding and Dent section for half price and was wondering if it was worth it. Has anyone played it? Does it function well as a stand alone game? Or will it just make me want to start cracking booster packs (which I don't need/want to do)? Any word on any more themed sets in the future (/crosses fingers for Super Sentai/Power Rangers)?
I haven't played it yet, but my biggest fear is that every game might go in the same direction. I don't want every game to be, "Wow, I'm not doing so well, I better turn into Voltron." Which, yeah, I know that's how the cartoon went, but I don't think that translates into a fun game.
I will say that having the abilities printed on the board is fucking WIN. Looking up abilities in MonPoc kills the game for me. Heaven forbid you use different factions.
