Anderson Silva last night

Not sure if anyone else caught last nights fight between Anderson Silva & Vitor Belfort....fight ended with one of the most awesome kicks to the face I've ever seen.

Not only that but Silva credits training with Steven Seagal on the kick that KO'd Belfort.

You cannot underestimate my beloved front kick. Toes up and everything..that guy hit him perfect. I'm shocked that Belfort didn't step back...it wasn't that fast of a kick.

Belfort was looking for a side kick or perhaps the chest. I've never seen anyone take one flush in the face like that.

Well that settles the Van Damme vs Seagal trashdome once and for all.

It is rumoured that when Seagal was showing that kick to Silva, his opponent's head was ripped clean off and then exploded in mid-air.

Not really.

Van Damme's still in good enough shape where he could probably still kick somebody in the face himself. Seagal, on the other hand, has to get a younger, less rotund guy to do it for him.

And even if Seagal could explode heads with a kick, all his opponent would have to do is break into a brisk jog, and Steve's fat ass would collapse trying to catch up. Just check out his reality show if you doubt it.

The only thing JCVD proved he could take out is a bill to assist with his 7 of coke.

I just want to see Silva vs GSP. That could potentially be a fight for the century.

They are trying to put this together asap. GSP needs to get past Shields in Toronto first and apparently the next fight for both of them should be against each other - probably at catch weight.

The only thing that bugs me is that I don't think that GSP really has the frame to move to middleweight. I'm pretty sure he only walks around at like 190ish between fights, where I think Silva tops 210 pretty easy.

However, the fight with Sonnen at least showed that a good top control guy WITH good takedowns can control Silva. If GSP can bulk up in a way that doesn't hurt his explosiveness and cardio then it looks to be a hell of a fight.

I agree. He (GSP) has stated he'd need at least 6 months to gradually move up. The Sonnen fight at least proved that Silva can take a beating. I'm not a Silva fan by any stretch - I think he's a wierd guy but that fight showed a side of the champ no one had seen (at least in the UFC).

I'm a huge fan of Silva but the last couple of fights prior to Saturday had my faith wavering.

but that fight showed a side of the champ no one had seen (at least in the UFC).

I totally agree there.
