I stumbled on this looking for some Survive! graphics - Die Schlacht der Dinosaurier - "Battle of the Dinosaurs"

Looks like a lot of fun, www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1081 , has anyone played this?

Essential.

Design by Steven Baker (Heroquest, Battle Masters, Space Crusade.)

Plays a bit like an early Memoir 44. Cards determine what you can move or attack. The big difference is that the dice are 0,1,2,5,10,15. Highest sum wins--which means that dice luck is off the scale.

Rerolls or reuse of cards is offered via lava balls (which look like little crunch berries). They are tossed into a volcano and come back into the game half of the time.

Then make the entire thing all about guys with spears riding giant dinosaurs and set in the world of the most popular German roleplaying game.

That more people HAVEN'T heard of it is the crime here.

Ok, then my next question would be...

I see one in Germany for sale for quite a reasonable price. Can anyone help a former pro wrassler out to get it here? :)

Oh yeah!

No - but I can probably find the english translation of the rules on my PC somewhere. I sold mine to a guy in the US in January - brilliant looking game but another 'dust gatherer' disposed of recently.

I'd appreciate the English translation of the rules if you can find 'em.

Tnx! :)

Great Game. One of those that Frank pulled out of nowhere and turned out to be a 'must have' for me. I may ask to be buried with it when I die.

Ok so I was dino crazy this weekend and have this and two other dinosaur games on the way. The three might be good fodder for an article after I have some plays of all of them under my belt. :)

The other two I have coming are the Jurassic Park III Island Survival game and the Lost Valley of the Dinosaurs game (from the creator of Survive! and Escape from Atlantis) I'm betting that most of them will be fun to play with kids and adults alike.

Looking for information about survive led me to Lost Valley, which led me to the other two... so naturally I had to get all three... That logic is flawless right? ;)

Does anyone here have Survive! and a scanner? I would be very appreciative if you could do me a favor. I'd like to create some cards for Escape from Atlantis so that I can play it with more of the Survive! ruleset. Please let me know if you can help. Thanks! :)

You can't go wrong with dinosaurs. I'm hoping this is the year of the dinosaur when we finally see some new games come out. Preferably with cavemen.

Mine was missing too when I bought the game. It was easy to make a spare one though. I used the top of a water bottle with a piece of mat board in the center to create the baffel. Then I paper mache'd over it to make the volcano. With some paint and a bit of plastic plants its looks pretty damn good (In fact, I like it better that the original)

Hey don't forget Dinosaurs of the Lost World. An old AH game that was designed to be kid and solo friendly. My wife and I like to dig it out on occation and play it with our boys.

That and a pair of boobs will garner you a couple hundred image thumbs on T.O.S.

(Sounds like a good replacement; I'm just keeping a eye out for a part set on ebay.)

I should have a spare Lost Valley of the Dinoaurs game soon that I'll unload for cost + shipping. If someone is interested my guess is that it will arrive around next weekend's timeframe.
