Dracula's America was created by blatz

Anyone else seen this? I picked up the rules and some minis/terrain and I REALLY like it. It has rules for straight western settings as well as "weird west" settings. Basically you can play as cowboys and Indians but who wants to do that when you can be shape-changing "skin walker" tribes, vampire covens, or undead posses of confederate soldiers (the south will literally rise again)?

The rules are smart and clean and the initiative system is brilliantly thematic (each player brings a standard deck of cards and "bets" them). Osprey is killing it lately.

Yes, Osprey is killing it. This game looks neat, but my bandwidth for miniatures games is sadly so, so low. Frostgrave really took off for me for a while but as with all of them, opponents become an issue. I might try to get some Gaslands going this weekend.

I would be all over this game if I had 3 other regular players to play it with. Alas stuck in my world of one shot miniatures games I'll stick with FoKF and Gaslands.

The author for a while was very active on the lead adventure forum and there is a nice large thread over there in the gothic horror section if anyone is interested in some of the insights about the rules.

Thanks for the tip on those forums. The game is pretty great. Rules are simple and intuitive yet still manage to cover things like dragging wounded comrades out of danger and using bystanders as human shields. Fun stuff and it’s been a nice change of pace building Wild West terrain.

I’d realy like to get into this but yeah...too many irons, too many fires...

Plus I can’t really use Deathworld Forest or Sector Mechanicus to represent a western town.

Sorry, an acronym for a Fistful of Kung Fu; A different Osprey title. It's the Song of Blades and Heroes system in an Action Movie/Martial Arts setting.

Dracula's America is super awesome. It unseated Dead Man's Hand for me as the western/weird west game of choice. Plus all that lovely 4Ground stuff still works.
