Like in Monty Python The Meaning of Life when MR. Creoso is done eating dinner, then the waiter offers him a mint, which he declines initially, knowing he can't take it. The the waiter assures him, "it's only wafer theen". And as we all know, Mr. Creoso explodes into a disgusting bloody mess.
So will be your fate with the minis! Come on, Stormseeker, the toads are only wafer thin.

Also I think a quick, dark ink wash on the toad would really improve your results with minimal effort.

I don't know how to wash I do have a couple inks I picked up in a sale though. There's this "dip" the guys at the wargame shop use. I can't recall what the name is, but a friend up there showed me the result and it's pretty amazing. Basically they dip their figs in this stuff, pull it out, and let it dry 24 hours. It's like an instant ink wash.evilgit wrote: Looking good, QP. You gonna give him a nice gloss coat, so he will look slick & wet?

If you've already got some water-based inks (GW or any other mini manufacturer) just water down a few drops (10-1 water to ink ratio or so depending on how dark) and brush it liberally onto the toad. The pigment will find the recesses and create a shadow effect. Really simple, the only mistake you could make would be to not dilute the ink enough. With that and dry brushing you can get some amazing results with very little practice and time.

Here are some tutorials I made for Space Hulk that shows how easy it is to get great looking minis with very little paint and a nice wash.

When you say 10 - 1 do you mean brushes full or do you use a dropper? I just want to make sure I mix correctly.
