I dunno. MMP can't afford to expand exposure without increasing the tranparancy of their preorder and publishing process else they'll get just killed by the same word of mouth by the non-CSW crowd.
Panzerblitz Hill of Death has been beyond its Pxxx number for better than a year, ASL: Doomed Bat. too; hell, there's even a new ASL scenario pack that is a set of classic SL conversions that I've found references to on the web but can't actually find on their website anywhere to order. Apparently it's supposed to be coming out soon [perhaps as soon as the end of January], but I have no idea how to order it from MMP .
When GMT items "make the cut", you get notified and a charging/printing schedule usually follows shortly thereafter. With MMP, who the hell knows...unless you're willing to wade through 7 years of messages on CSW to find out, maybe, what they're thinking or planning.
With MMP, I just put in an order and assume that at some point within 3 years or so, I might see the game. Or maybe not...
The only bit of CSW I read regularly is the marketplace [great deals to be had there]. For every other part of the site, it's just too Byzantine to bother wading through 18,000 messages [e.g., Paths of Glory] to find the rules clarification I need. It's simply easier to wait for one of the true grognards to post a compiled FAQ to the BGG entry for a particular game--or to pose the question there. The number of chit-heads may be smaller, but it generally doesn't take long for a reasonable answer to pop up.
And someone needs to show Starkweather the "notify of content" checkbox on BGG profiles. It sends a GM anytime info is posted to a specific game's forum. Easy...
