Look man...I've got no problem with corporate or disposable music. If you could see my iPod, you'd know what I'm talking about.

I guess maybe it's something specific about corporate rock. Most top 40 stuff doesn't pretend to be more than it is. But when I listen to Kroeger's warbling faux growl and the same guitar riffs over and over again, I get the feeling he thinks he's making IMPORTANT music.

None of this would matter if the music was any good. But it isn't. It's half-warmed rock with no soul and no spirit. I'd rather sit through a dozen teeny-bopper bullshit songs that is honest about what it is than another Nickelback song.

Was Nickelback the band that compared themselves to Led Zeppelin? I think it might have been a different wuss rock outfit... ken's comment about them thinking they are important made me remember that.

It was Creed, I seem to recall. Their lead douche said something about them being like Led Zeppelin in that they were critically panned but sold a zillion records.
