Adding Washington's War to my small and underplayed wargame selection. I've been interested since it was announced as its a historical period that interests me and a good length/complexity for me.

Its time to buy a copy of Arkham Horror + Dunwich again. I had a copy in the past, but I foolishly traded it. Im going to need the solitaire games as spawn #1 arrives soon.

More proof that F:AT causes babies.

I picked up a copy of Risk 2210 for a reasonable price (£20) off eBay 'cos I heard it was as good as Risk:SWOT and is hard to get.

Frontline D-Day sounds pretty cool. Anybody play it yet?

Unfortunately the expansions are never a reasonable price.

I traded away Battle line for Pocket Battles: Celts vs. Romans and$5. I like Battle Line but I'm unstoppable at it and haven't played in a while. Pocket Battles was the surprise hit from my Geekend visit to my brother back in January.

metalface care to write review of it? I've been curious for a while about the game.

Sure, I'll need a refresher game or two and then I'll write one up.

I played Pocket Battles: Celts vs. Romans a few times. It's really fun but the art is atrocious. The artist got the idea that those crappy little drawings that are typically found on 3/4" counters in 21st century wargames would look acceptable when blown up past 1". There are gradients on the box too. *shudders* Might as well put the rulebook in Comic Sans.

The art's not that bad. I'm fine with the icon-looking illustrations. People whine about over-the-top FFG fantasy art and then complain when something is too simple? And gradients are not the graphic design crime that comic sans is.

Traded away two core sets of Warhammer: Invasion. Man, Invasion looked promising at first, but there was too much focus on resource management (which was admittedly good) and too little on combat (which was pretty dull). Also, I don't care if you call it an LCG or what, I'm sick of games where I have to keep buying new cards to stay "competitive" with other players.

In exchange I got Fury of Dracula (FFG). I hope this works out better for me!

What makes you think they're the same people?

To hold down my gaming collection I've been trading more than buying. The nice thing about trading is that I can get the new game buzz with out spending $40 - 50 bucks or adding a game to my shelf. The problem is that I'm running out of good trade bait.

This week I traded Warriors of Gods which I like but Bobbytweeks and Sag have a copy so my copy will probably never get played for Tales of the Arabian Nights which would have been on my buy list if it came out 2 years ago when I was buying a game a month but instead has been on my wish list but not my buy list since now I'm only buying about 4 games a year.

Tales should get some family playing time.
