So who here's played this and what's their thoughts on the game? I've had it kicking around for a few years now not played, so I think it is time that I really decide to get rid of it or to put a push behind it to get it to the table.

So is it worth keeping? I love the theme but the rules do seem a little clunky.

It's okay. The rules are pretty clunky as per Avalon Hill standard for that time. Outside of that it all depends on the cards. There's plenty of ways to get at somebody as well as plenty of ways for someone to get at you. Sometimes the most difficult thing is getting out of a zone where the lead car is constantly flipping.
