Princess Ryan's Star Marines was created by Sagrilarus
My buddy Paul, procurer of all things hard to find, stumbled across a copy of Princess Ryan's Star Marines in shrink wrap today and purchased it for me.
Appears to be a competitive/cooperative hybrid with a common goal but a declared winner at the end. Anyone have any experience with this pup? Should I be excited or not?

The theme is cool; kind of a sci-fi G.I. Joe thing. Also, it was a little ahead of its time with the ability to shank the leader of the team (co-op with a traitor).
That's about all I can say for it. It's pretty boring, with a very strong tendency for one guy to end up playing the game for everyone else, as in a lot of co-op games. It's also pretty random, without much decision making. Oh, and you could pretty much play it with a standard deck of cards. It's all executive theme.
So, I wouldn't be too excited, but if you don't take it too seriously, it should provide you with a little short-lived fun.

Does it have a DM or is it fully rules driven?

There is a DM, but since you can play it solo, I guess you don't really need one.

I know nothing about this game, but the name is just terrible. It sounds like something you can play with both GI Joe and Barbie dolls.

I get the impression that the whole thing was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. To be honest, it's kind of like a really early, really primitive BSG. It uses some of the same concepts. It is a pretty stupid game, though, and one that I'm trying to get rid of.
