review of the Asteroid boardgame

Total front page material. I have many fond memories of playing Asteroid circa 1980. It may not hold up so well in terms of gameplay and balance, but conceptually it is exemplary of the kind of creativity and emergent narrative I want to see more of in the current generation of boardgames. For me, Asteroid was one of the keys that unlocked the door to the thematic potential of boardgames.
