Ha! It's not set in LA. It's set in (or near) Detroit. I definitely want to go see this for that reason. Plus it looks like a good movie. The role almost seems like a reprisal of Gunny.I just assumed Clint Eastwood shot half of them in the middle of it, like an old time western set in downtown LA

I think this movie looks great, I just hope the racial undercurrent of the film doesn't stomp all over the characters.
A valid concern. I didn't think it did at all. If anything it gave Eastwood's character credibility. I believed Walt Kowalski. Hell, I've known old farts like Walt Kowalski. Sure they were racist bastards but at least they were honest. They called it like they saw it. No hidden agendas, no bullshit. In this era of PC nonsense where everyone is so afraid to offend anyone, it was refresing to see a character that is so decidedly old-school.
I won't give anything away from the plot. It's a good movie so go see it and decide for yourself.
